There are many creative ideas you can use with paper wedding fans that aren’t limited to the traditional multi-fold fans.  Many paper wedding fans are printed on heavy card stock with or without metallic lettering.  They can be attached to a paddle stick and embellished with ribbons, flowers or other small decorative items such as tiny wedding bands.  You can choose thematic colors and fonts as well.  For instance, if your bridal party is dressing in period attire, such as Victorian, you could use special Calligraphy fonts from that period. 

Paper wedding fans are ideal if you intend to have them printed.  While it is possible to have silk or other fabrics printed, it is usually more costly.  Depending on the number of guests you are inviting, printed fabric fans may be cost prohibitive.  Paper fans can be just as attractive, if not more so, because your options aren’t as limited.  Paper is especially desirable if you have a large amount of information you intend to include such as if they are intended as wedding program fans or photo wedding fans. 

Many print shops, online as well as local shops, should have an assortment of paper fans suitable for print that you could choose from.  If your printer doesn’t have in stock the colors or fonts you intend to use, talk to them.  If you allow enough time they may be able to get their hands on what you are looking for.  Just remember that you need to allow anywhere from four to six weeks if you are ordering online.  If you need your order in less time than that, an expedited order charge may be included.
